The moment the news broke, the city burst open like a firework, windows flung wide, voices soaring into the spring air as if the sky itself had been waiting to hear

A soldier home on leave was hoisted onto shoulders he didn’t recognise, laughing so hard he could barely breathe, his boots tapping out a rhythm that matched the heartbeat of the crowd.
Strangers kissed without asking names, beer sloshed from raised glasses, and the whole world seemed to glow with the 'Golden Light Of A Future' finally within reach.
For one glorious day, the shadows fell away, and the streets belonged to joy, 'Loud, Reckless, Unstoppable Joy' the kind that only comes when a nation wakes to find that the long night is finally over.
